Foods To Avoid When Trying To Lose Weight

Well I thought it might be nice to have a definitive list on the site of foods you should try to keep clear of when trying to lose weight.

Now I don’t expect you to stop eating these foods all together, that is ridiculous. I can’t really expect a chocoholic to give up their afternoon sugar rush overnight even if their waist and teeth would appreciate a break.

Instead I recommend that you simply reduce the amount you eat in one serving and then from there reduce the number of days you eat that food. [Read more...]

Sugarfree Apple and Carrot Muffins (High Protein)

Check it out! I got the original recipe for these Apple  and Carrot Muffins off allrecipes.com which is pretty much the world-wide hub or recipes. Check is out! These muffins will allow you hours of pwning noobs without the sugar rush come down. Check it out! I just watched Aliens and thats why I’m using Hudson’s favourite phrase.

These muffins are also great for cleaning out a few items from the fridge.

Makes 12 muffins.

What mats (ingredients) you will require

Before you get started, make sure you have all these materials or at lease something similar. I’ll go over some items at the bottom that you can swap out to mix this recipe up.

  • 1 3/4 cups raisin bran cereal (or similiar cereal with raisins/sultanas and flakes)
  • 1 1/4 wholemeal flour
  • 1 1/4 tspn baking powder
  • 1 tspn ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tspn salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 3/4 cup grated (or finely chopped) apple
  • 3/4 cup grated carrot
  • 1/4 cup walnuts

The Book Of Muscle by Ian King – Review

Normally I’m not a big fan of Men’s Health. A lot of the content contained within it’s pages is the fairly typical magazine dribble. Not to say that there isn’t the occasional interesting article or workout.

One thing they do fairly well, is get well known fitness experts to publish damn good books. The Book Of Muscle is one of those books, written by weight lifting expert Ian King (with the help of Lou Schuler).

I had borrowed this book from the library a few years before buying it. At the time I felt a little overwhelmed and also cautious as it’s workouts were completely different to what my teenage mind thought was correct. Top 5 Buff Nerds

I was browsing the internet for fun and came across some pretty fun facts about certain movie stars. Before someone asks as I’m sure they will, while I don’t know if they have used enhancements like steroids or HGH, all of these guys physiques are definitely attainable without them. The key here is consistency and time.

Lundgren5. Dolph Lundgren

Dolph Lundgren (Red Scorpion, Rocky IV, Universal Soldier) at 6’5” and built like a lean mean truck has always cut a menacing figure in movies. The Russian accent definitely adds to the menace too.

Despite having quite an interest in music growing up, Dolph ended up studying and gaining a Master’s Degree in engineering at the University of Sydney, Australia (Aussie Aussie Aussie!). After his Master’s was complete he fell into acting through his Martial Arts and the rest is history.

Smith4. Will Smith

Will Smith cuts the image a more of an intelligent nerd rather than a geeky nerd. He’s a big fan of chess and has been playing since he was seven years old. He says that playing chess can be related back to living life: “Everything you do in your life is a move. You wake up in the morning, you strap on a gun, and you walk out on the street – that’s a move. You’ve made a move and the universe is going to respond with its move.” On a side note, apparently he is a bit of a math whiz too.

Smith is no stranger to working out. He consistently looks big in all his movies, Bad Boys I & II and I Am Legend come to mind off the top of my head. [Read more...]
