The Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson – Review

You know that feeling when you read something that changes your life? This book gave me those feelings. As I sped through the pages nearly non-stop I found myself eager to trial out Mark Sisson‘s methods. [Which I have sense done in a Primal Blueprint case study]

Why I liked it

Now that opening paragraph is pretty strong. I should probably be getting paid just for writing it, but I genuinely feel that this book is a book that every single person should read. Sisson manages to put eloquently into words a lifestyle that would be beneficial to most people’s modern day lives.

The best part of this book is that it’s an entire way of living. It’s not just a diet, or a workout routine, or a stress-less guide, it’s a complete full blown method to living a fuller, healthier life.

Unfortunately, for most people, the jump into Sisson’s 10 rules for a Primal lifestlye would be too much of a change and would probably result in a backlash of binge eating and TV watching. [Read more...]

You Are Your Own Gym by Mark Lauren – Review

As a Bootcamp Instructor I’m always looking for new bodyweight exercises with little to no equipment necessary. Naturally Amazon knew this and suggested that I might enjoy this book while I was perusing it’s webpages.

Initial Thoughts

It turns out that You Are Your Own Gym was quite good. You can never tell with fitness books until you open them up and have a look inside. While not having as many new body weight exercises as I hoped it still provides a great reference book for every basic bodyweight exercise.
